How to get curly hair?

Am an african american with natural hair, am wondering if it is possible to get my hair curly or curly with a wet look to it. I have worlds of curls hair activator, i used it but it didnt work. How am I suppose to use it to get curly hair? am i suppose to perm my hair then apply the activtor?

Please help me, if you can, can you please give me step-by-step instructions.

Curling activators... I would stay away from specialized hair stuff designed to make your hair curly. One of the reasons people have curly hair naturally is because their hair doesn't retain moisture as well, and consequently can't hold itself straight. And a rule of thumb is to never do anything that'll strip your follicles of moisture!

If your hair is natural I would try sleeping with wet braids, or maybe using curling pins and hairspray. A curling iron can also help, but unfortunately those curls don't always last long.

For the wet look try styling gel or transparent mousses, but remember not to use too much or you'll weigh your hair down!
