I'm really fed up with my hair. I'm an African-American and my hair is extremely nappy, kinky, and dry! Whenever my hair is permed at home by my mom... afterwards it will be soft for that day and the next it starts to get a little hard so i put hair lotion on it. Around the crown area of my hair is longer than the back and it is SO short. It doesnt even touch my shoulders or anything. That's the reason why i braid my hair most of the time becuase i dont like showing my real hair... What should I do to make my hair {ESPICALLY THE BACK PART} to start growing. And any other hairstyles i should try.. [Natural] that I dont have to worry about getting packs of braids all the times. Thank u Much! My friend in highschool used to do all sorts of fancy hairstyle with weave, however, its sooooo tacky if its not put in right!!!

You should go to a black hair stylist, they do wonders and might give you more advice on how to take care of you hair.

I would try DOO GROW on your scalp immediately after you shower, so your pores are open and more receptive to the treatment. There are also some good organic hair treatments for the rest of it(I think "Dr. Miracle" is a good one. I hear good things about it.) They also now make Pantene specifically for women of color, which I have used on my daughter's hair which though long, was pretty fragile, and now it's thick. Granted she has combination hair, but it leans more toward her African-American heritage than to mine...

I used DOO GROW on my son's bald head when he was about 13 months and still had nothing but fine baby hair, and now he's got almost a full head of hair... Almost.

will u have the problem of many black woman your hair wont grow. I suggest that you keep you hair in braids for a few months so you can let your natural hair grow then go to a stylist that specializes in natural hair so you can cut all of the relaxed hair off. Next start getting your perms proffessionally done you will see a major difference in texture. You should also consider doing some scalp massages and Getting some fertilizing balm.

Also remember to get your ends clipped every 6 weeks.

hey im 25 and after a long time i only got my hair nearly down to my bum now, its taken me years to get it this long naturally between trimmimg and everything else. i also have it laired at the front but patience is a virtue as they say, as for dry hair (i swear it works) put raw egg in your hair leave for 5 minutes and rinse, of course do this after shampooing. i use to do that after my hair became really dry and its a natural remedy so no added chemicals. anyway i hope i helped a little bit. best of luck
