Is Seventeen Mag a good magazine(Not Racial)?

Ok you guys, I'm African American and 17 and alot of my friends only read Black Hair Magazines(African American Hair Styles). And me, I read Black Hair Mags and Seventeen Mag because I like the different articles and clothing well, pretty much everything lol. But my "So Called" friends believe I'm trying to be white.

That's not the case. I have lots of "True Friends" of different races. Should I just dump those so called friends of mine or what? I don't have any online friends.

I personally think your friends are ignorant because the think you're "trying to be white " when you certainly can not act like a certain race, when everyone acts different. So yeah, tell what I said, and if they still say racial comments like that, then drop them and get new friends.

and cupons so u wont go broke. i love their articles on how to take cair of ur skin and hair and makeup by race. its so cool

Well I'm an 18 year old African American who LOVES seventeen mag (and CosmoGirl). I think it's pretty ignorant of your friends to say that you're trying to "be white". My friends use to say the same thing until I had them actually read the articles and look at the cute clothes ya know. I don't think they were trying to be mean by saying that. Some people are closed-minded about things that they're not use to. There's not a black woman/girl on the cover of Seventeen every month so they're probably not going to pick it up. Don't shut your friends out b/c they think that way though. Girl, just continue to read your Seventeen and tell them to mind they business ya kno.

tell them calmly that you like the clothing and stories in seventeen better than the ones in Black Hair Mag. They might just be teasing, so tell them to stop (politly with a calm voice). If they continue, start by siting at different table at lunch.
