I'm african american and I'm wanting a skater hairstyle?

I'm trying to get my hair like Zach Efron or Ryan Shecklers. The only problem is- I'm not really a hair person and most of the time my hair breaks off when I run my fingers through it- should I get extensions to achieve this look? How are extensions cared for? here are some pics of what I want:

Extensions will work but if your hair breaks alot then you may want to get a sew in or a lacefront weave so that it won't mess up your natural hair.. If you have enough hair to get it cut into that style do it, make sure when you go to bed you wrap it so when you get up all you have to do is comb it into that style, without using any heat..Also get a good leave in conditioner i use pantene..As far as taking care of extensions it is just like your own.You can wash it but remember it is not yuour hair so you can't be rough with it..GOOD LUCK!!

I don't that is really a skater syle anymore. Now everybody has that cut or knows somebody who has that cut. I had that first guy's cut 5 years ago and everybody called me Rob Thomas or Ashton Kutcher. Now, every kid whants their hair like that.
