My first daughter hair texture changed when she was about a year old to year and a 1/2.

Im not a mother, just a kid but as soon as my hair became acertain length it got ugly. I mean it HURT. THats why you should try to keep it either really short or in some kind of braid or twist at all times. Dont just let it go into an afro for to long. That was my dads mistake. One word: Ouch. ; )
